World Road Association (PIARC)

The World Road Association (PIARC) is a network founded in 1909 at the dawn of the motor age. It now boasts 121 government members worldwide and retains consultative status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. A leading international forum for analysis and discussion of the full spectrum of transport issues, related to roads and road transport, it identifies, develops and disseminates best practice and gives better access to international information, whilst fully considering the needs of developing countries and countries in transition. PIARC develops and promotes efficient tools for decision making on matters related to roads and road transport.
