Yeon Myung Kim

Vice President, Korea Transport Institute (KOTI)

Dr. Yeon Myung KIM is a Vice President of the Korea Transport Institute (KOTI). He worked as a Policy Analyst of the ITF (International Transportation Form) at the OECD organisation in Paris, for two years since September 2013. He received his PhD in Transportation Program of Civil Engineering at University of Maryland at College Park, USA in 1997 after receiving the Master of Science degree from the graduate school of Seoul National University. After the completion of his academic careers in U.S., he joined as research fellow in KOTI in 1997. He has pursued a career in aviation policies and technology both in civilian and military sector with the deepest interest on aviation environment such as air transport liberalization, open skies, policy and airport master plan. He is a member of aviation committee at Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in Republic of Korea. Also, he was in charge of public transport committee in Korea Transportation Research Society. While he was serving his duty at KOTI, he has joined as faculty member to teach students at Seoul National University and Korea Aerospace University. In KOTI, he conducted more than 150 national projects and overseas projects in conjunction with various foreign governments. Most memorable projects were Incheon International Airport Master Plan for Year 2030, Joint project of Korea-European Union Air Transport Liberalization policy and Mid- and Long term National Airport System Planning project in Korea as well as Smart Airport Master Plan project. The most of case, the result of his research works reflected to national and international policies in technology and law perspectives.
