Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation

The Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) is an international entity promoting the economic cooperation among its 12 Member States and beyond. Established in 1992 in Istanbul, it acquired international legal identity with the entry into force of its Charter in 1999. Today BSEC serves as a trusted platform for cooperation and is considered as the oldest and institutionally most mature entity of its kind in the wider Black Sea region.

The BSEC transport projects envisage development of road and maritime infrastructure, with due attention to the harmonization of cross-border procedures, thus, facilitating trade and, furthermore, transforming the BSEC Region into a reliable connectivity-bridge between Europe and Asia.
